My Mouth Is Lost!

When I was just a young gal, I took a ballet class for all of one hour. For me, a hardwired tomboy, it got in the way of my Little League Baseball practice. Yes I'm always in awe of the discipline.

This picture of ballerina Aesha Ash in a tutu dancing through the inner city neighborhood she grew up in fascinated me as much as it did these little girls. I cheekily messaged her and asked her to be a guest on the podcast by stating that I sauteè and she sautés (pronounced sotes).

She happily agreed to chat about The Swan Dreams Project, the foods of her youth and how Italian food has brought her family to the table in “My Mouth Is Lost!”, Episode 26 of "Something About Food?"

Aesha Ash is a former professional ballet dancer. She danced with New York City Ballet, Bejart Ballet du Lausanne, and Alonzo King Lines Ballet. Aesha is now the creator of The Swan Dreams Project which uses imagery and her art of ballet to show the world that beauty, elegance, grace, and poise are not defined by your race or socioeconomic background.

Gelato is one of the many things, including Goulash, that Aesha and I have in common when it comes to food.
